3 Affiliate Marketing Secrets to Make Full-time Income

Affiliate marketing secrets to full-time income

Can You Make a Living with Part Time Affiliate Marketing?

The gurus say affiliate marketing is easy.

You may agree affiliate marketing is NOT as easy as thy make it out to be.

If it is true, then why are there so many people making $0 month after month?

Today, I am going to share some of my secrets with you. I have been doing this internet marketing thingy since 1996. Over the years, I have tried just about all the income-generating strategies in the known world.

I have had $0 months. And I have had $1,000 days. And everything in between. Most of my income comes from affiliate marketing. Some comes from advertising income (Adsense).

I have been scammed a few times, bought more worthless products than I care to remember. And have made a few bucks (well, actually quite a few bucks or why would I still be doing this?)

I learned...

You cannot just pick a product or service at one of the affiliate networks (JVZoo, Clickbank, Amazon, ShareaSale or Commission Junction) and start promoting your affiliate link. I don't care where you advertise whether it is Facebook Ads, Google Adwords, Bing Ads, blogs or ad networks.

If you do, you will almost always burn through more cash than you earn in commissions. It takes very deep pockets. Neil Patel spent $12,512 a day on Facebook to build brand awareness.

With far smaller budgets, we need to be smart about our affiliate marketing.

So, with that said, I will share some of my secrets with you.

1. Promote Like You Would to Your Mom

When you are affiliate marketing, you need to create content about the products you promote. Content includes website/blog posts, email messages, videos, and graphics. These help potential buyers gather information about products. It helps pre-sell them make a decision.

This is where I see many affiliate marketers go wrong.

They try to make the sale. They make a sales pitch like a bad used car salesman.

Promote like you would to your mom

Hi, mom!

An affiliate marketer's "job" is to lead a prospective purchaser to click on their affiliate link to the vendor's sales page. The purpose of the vendor's sales page is to lead the person from a prospective purchaser to becoming a customer.

So instead of selling, you need to keep it real. You want help them solve their problem by respecting and relating to their situation.

Talk about real world things. Keep it light and pressure free. They'll appreciate it and want more.

And yes, they might even buy using your link.

I find this type of marketing not only more fun, but more effective. People pay more attention to you when you are not in their face screaming louder than the next guy.

Try this technique and I guarantee you will start seeing better results with your affiliate marketing.

2. Stick to One Niche

As a member of the Wealthy Affiliate training community, I see too many members promoting the Wealthy Affiliate opportunity when they don't achieve their expected success within their chosen niche.

The power of the Wealthy Affiliate training program is the identification and selection of a niche in which to create a business. The concept is simply...

identify your passion, share it with others, and make money online.

The training focuses on identifying a member's interests, hobbies, passions, or things that they enjoy. Once a member has identified a niche, then they are taught to build and develop a website to reach their targeted audience.

But when they do not meet their profit expectations, they switch to the make-money-online niche.

This is a big mistake in my opinion. They need to stick to ONE niche that they know and like.

If your thing is dogs then build a site around dogs. Share your best stories and products. Share your worst mistakes. Show them you are human just like them. You can write all about it, make videos about it - however you are most comfortable sharing your story.

Just don't stray off the topic of dogs and try to sell affiliate products in the Internet marketing niche. Your audience will lose interest and see right through your sales pitch. But if you're showing them how to raise a puppy or adopt a dog, then you tell them how to you learned from XYZ site. Or how you purchased and used a product. That's different.

That's how you make lots of sales over and over.

3. Know What You Are Promoting

Seriously... REALLY, REALLY know it.

The easiest products to promote are the ones you use and like yourself. When I review my previous product promotions, I can easily identify the top performers as the ones I liked and used myself. Not always, but usually.

Learn all you can about your niche and business.

Learn all you can about your business; become an authority.

That is why it is so important to promote stuff you would buy or have bought yourself. You can show potential buyers all the good and the bad points of the product. That makes your promotions REAL and GENUINE.

Here is an example from a recent promotion. I had problems using Instagram to promote my business. I kept hearing about how great Instagram is. But I never seemed able to master Instagram because they only allow one website link in the member's bio area. That's tough on affiliate marketers!

Then, I ran across an Instagram app called Shorby.

I took the free trial and used the app on my Instagram account. I liked the app so much that I paid for a subscription when the trial ended. And I wrote a blog post about Shorby showing how I used the app with Instagram.

Affiliate Marketing Secrets Conclusion

Earning serious affiliate marketing commissions takes patience, persistence, and effort. Slapping together some thin content does not cut it.

You should be creative. And learn from as many expert marketers as you can.  Follow the stuff they do that works. Do what they do.

The bottom line result is more profits in less time and effort.
