Thank you for visiting the Home Business for Veterans website. And thank you for your service!

The purpose of Home Business for Veterans is to educate, train, and help people learn how to create and operate a successful online home business.

If you have spent anytime at all online looking for home business opportunities, no doubt you have seen thousands of opportunities. The problem is identifying the good ones while avoiding the scams and rip-offs.

Since I have never participated in a franchise opportunity, franchises are beyond the scope of Home Business for Veterans and working from home. Although, I imagine there are some franchises that may be considered home businesses.

I think many of us have at one time or another thought about starting our own internet-based home business.

Think about starting your own home business.

Thinking about working for yourself?

Particularly, on days gone wrong. A bad day at work. Failure for promotion. Getting laid off with no back-up plan. Not having enough money to pay an unexpected bill. A desire to do something else. Just plain tired of your financial condition and are unhappy as a result.

Sounds bad doesn’t it?

There is good news!

Based on a 2012 study by the Small Business Administration, 52% of U.S. companies operate as home businesses. Many of today’s biggest brand names were established by stay-at-home moms – (Dorothy) Gerber, Mrs. (Debbi) Fields, and Julie Aigner-Clark (Baby Einstein), to name but a few. And don’t forget Apple or Amazon. Jeff Bezos founded Amazon.com in 1994 as an online bookstore and it was completely run out of his garage.

Starting an internet-based home business has never been easier for anyone including veterans.

Billions of people are online at any given time. Sharing information, researching for product information, shopping, socializing just to mention a few of the things people do online.

Imagine an internet store that never closes. People looking and shopping 24/7. Kevin Systrom, co-founder of Instagram, says, “If you’ve got an idea, start today. There’s no better time than now to get going.”

The really good news is your military skills will serve you well building a home business. I wrote an article on applying military skills shows you how they apply.

Do you have a vision of your future?

I know for many of us veterans during deployment, we dreamed of and talked about getting back to the real world. And we go through the struggle of finding work or a new challenge. Or being in a job that sucks or is wasting our talent.

I remember the challenges of supporting a family on my military income. Even with my wife working, it was a struggle getting to the next payday.

Saving for the future? Not a chance. That is why I chose to start a home business when the opportunity arose. It was to supplement my income so I could save for retirement. If you are not ready to start a home business, then finding ways to reduce your expenses can help.
